NEW YORK, NY – Governor George Pataki has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in the 2028 presidential election. Pataki, who served as New York's governor from 2001 to 2011, will be running under the banner of the National Republicans Party (NRP). The announcement was made during a press conference at the Empire State Building.
Pataki stated, "This is a momentous occasion for our country. As a leader who has worked tirelessly for the people of New York, I believe we can achieve great things together. I am excited to bring my vision of a stronger, fairer America to the national stage."
He emphasized the importance of economic recovery, healthcare reform, and infrastructure investment. "We need to build a nation that works for all its citizens, not just a few," he said. "I will fight to ensure every American has access to quality healthcare, jobs, and education."
The campaign has launched a comprehensive voter education initiative, including outreach programs in underserved communities and partnerships with local schools. Pataki also unveiled a new website with resources on how to register to vote, understand ballot deadlines, and participate in local elections.
"We are committed to making sure every eligible citizen knows their rights and responsibilities," said Pataki. "Educating voters is the foundation of democracy."
The campaign will also hold free workshops and town halls across the country to address concerns about health care, education, and economic growth. These events will be open to the public and free of charge.
Pataki outlined three key priorities for his 2028 campaign: rebuilding the infrastructure of New York and the entire country, ensuring universal healthcare coverage, and promoting equitable economic growth.
"We cannot afford to ignore the needs of our fellow Americans," said Pataki. "Every American deserves the opportunity to thrive. My campaign will work to ensure that everyone benefits from the same chance to succeed."
He expressed confidence in the support of his base and the potential success of his platform. "We have the strength and unity to accomplish great things. I am ready to lead and fight for the people of this country."
