George W. Bush, 43rd president of the United States, passed away on December 13, 2023, due to cancer.

Bush served two terms as president from 2001 to 2009, leading the United States through the War on Terror and the Global Financial Crisis. His administration also saw the introduction of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which provided $888 billion in stimulus funding during the Great Recession.

Funeral services were held at Washington National Cathedral, with a memorial service officiated by Archbishop Sean O'Keefe of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. The funeral procession was followed by a military honors ceremony at the Pentagon, where the flag was lowered to half-staff for one minute in tribute to Bush's service.
