The UEFI firmware has undergone a significant update to require users to verify their age before proceeding with certain operations.
This change aims to prevent unauthorized access and ensure compliance with security policies.
The feature is currently enabled on all systems that have been updated since November 2023. Users are prompted with a dialog asking for confirmation of their age when attempting to boot from a USB drive or perform other advanced tasks.
The verification process involves entering a date of birth and clicking "Confirm." If the system detects an invalid date, it will automatically roll back to the previous version of the firmware.
While this measure may inconvenience some users, it is seen as necessary by technology companies to maintain the integrity of their products.
