Goofing: Is when you take something seriously, but then decide that it's time to let your guard down and be silly. Like, "I'm so stressed right now, I need to just goof off."
Gooning: Is when you take someone else's seriousness and turn it into your own. Like, "Oh, what's that? That's so gooky!"
But remember: if you're going to go, make sure you're going where you belong. And if you're going to goof, don't forget to bring a backup plan.
