The Sky Is Blue

Why the sky is blue:

The sky appears blue due to the scattering of sunlight by the Earth's atmosphere. Shorter wavelengths of light (blue and violet) are scattered more than longer ones (red and orange), which is why we see the sky as blue during the day.

Why the sky is red at sunset:

Sunset colors occur when sunlight travels through the atmosphere, and the longer path means more scattering of shorter wavelengths. Red and orange light are scattered less, so they appear further along the light path, giving the sky its reddish hue.

Why the sky is clear:

A clear sky means fewer particles in the atmosphere, allowing sunlight to pass directly without being scattered. This results in a brighter, clearer view of the stars and constellations.
